How to Motivate Your Fraternity Brothers For Rush

How to Motivate Your Fraternity Brothers For Rush

Let’s face it, nobody wants to go through rush these first few weeks back from Christmas break. Spring recruitment seems much more difficult, and that often turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy. While it is difficult to motivate brothers for spring recruitment, it isn’t impossible.

To motivate them, don’t focus on having rush events. Focus on having brotherhood events. If the brothers actually want to go to the events because they will be a lot of fun, then that will have a positive effect on your recruitment efforts.

So what type of events will the brothers want to attend? Every fraternity is different, but there are a couple of constants. All brothers are looking for a free meal. Feed the fraternity, and you will get a good turnout.

Also, no one likes to be left out. If the brothers think that everyone is going to be at the event and it will be a good time, then they will show up.

And if you can get them to show up, then everything will take care of itself. Brothers always have a great time when they are together; you just have to get them together.

Change your mindset from trying to make the recruits happy to trying to make the brothers happy. If you can make the brothers happy, the recruits will notice and that will have the most profound impact on your recruitment efforts.
