This starts to get specific about how a campus does business. At my school, it was free access where ever people wanted to go until the last night was invite only.

It's tough to ask someone to leave, especially during rush when you're trying to project a positive image on everyone - just like being nice to the heavy girl cause she has a hot friend.

I'm reminded of the cliche moment in animal house and most other movies where the stuck up fraternity sits the nerds in the corner where no one talks to them. That's extreme but not the wrong idea. I know I've had conversations with rushees where I encouraged them to go look at other fraternities to keep their options open. It seems like people too often don't take the hint you're trying to give.

Again, not really an easy answer. Just focus your resources on your priorities. And beware package deals, especially if you're uncomfortable with one of the pieces. That's come back to bite me a couple times.
