Good fraternity leaders are able to solve problems. They see that the fraternity is lacking in their social programs or in recruitment or in some other area, and they are able to lead a turnaround in these areas.
Your fraternity budget is probably $20,000 a year minimum. Because this figure is so high, your fraternity is doing your brothers a disservice if you aren’t treating your treasurer’s responsibilities as a business.
1) Keep your website current. Potential recruits and your alumni go there. If there are old pictures and rush calendars from 2004 up, then you can be assured that person is never going to come back.

It is going to happen. There is no doubt it is going to happen. You are going to find yourself in a conversation with a guy who is rushing your fraternity, and he is going to ask you why he should join your fraternity. This absolutely will happen at least once a semester and probably many times. You are foolish if you aren’t prepared for this situation.
Most fraternities want to have mixers with sororities. There are obvious benefits to this relationship. However, most fraternities really struggle to develop these relationships, and because of that they are never formed.
You probably have a rival fraternity on campus. For some reason or another, your fraternity just doesn’t get along with these guys. And because there isn’t a fraternity out there without flaws, they will slip up eventually.

Fraternities do more good for a college community than most other student organizations combined. Fraternities are dedicated to improving their communities through service. Fraternities excel in academics and provide the best leadership training on campus. So why are they vilified by outsiders?
