About Me

Become a Facebook Fan!I was initiated into Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity at North Carolina State University in the fall of 1997.  I joined a very young chapter; I was initiated the weekend after we were chartered, and was able to see the chapter grow from its infancy.

I would go on to become the president of my chapter for two years as well as the IFC president of the university.  I was also elected to be the undergraduate representative to Pi Lambda Phi’s International Executive Council.  These organizations thrived under my leadership, and I was recognized with the following awards:

  • Brother of the Year – NC State University Chapter of Pi Lambda Phi
  • NC State University Fraternity Man of the Year
  • Rafer Johnson Upsilon Achievement Award – presented to the most outstanding brother nationally in Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity

After graduation I took a job as a robotics engineer for an Italian robotics company.  However, when the Gulf War broke out, I decided to join the United States Air Force.

As an Air Force officer I deployed to the Middle East twice.  That is where this website started.  I started to compile the things I had learned as a successful fraternity leader during my free time in Balad, Iraq.  I knew I could offer a lot to the Greek community, and I envisioned this as a way I would be able to give back.

Unfortunately, I let my writing sit for a few years.  I had lost the passion due to being so far removed from my chapter and my fraternity.  But a chance encounter with an undergraduate brother in my fraternity reignited my desire to help Greek Life.

I launched the site in the summer of 2009, and it has been a huge success.  Thousands of visitors have read my columns, and it is very rewarding to think that I may be able to help them make their fraternity better.

I sincerely appreciate you visiting the site, and I welcome any feedback you can give.  My hope is that this site becomes a favorite resource for fraternity brothers everywhere.

Best of luck in your journey as a fraternity leader; I hope you enjoy the experience as much as I did.

Fraternally,

Pat Daley
